Threshold level you entered in the Setup.

on the compass indicates the relative duration and wind

To view additional weather-related data,

download and open the data file in G4. Locate the event
History data, and look for the following columns:
• Wind Speed @ Lmax (mi/h, sampled at 4 times/second)
• Wind Dir @ Lmax (compass direction or degrees)
• Gust Speed (samples the running average/1 min, then
reports an average rate over 10 mins.)
• Gust Dir (Compass direction)
• Trig Src (Event Trigger Source)
• Trig Level (usually in dB)
• Rain Max Rate (in/hr), Rain Accumulation (in/s)
• Hail Max Rate (in
In G4, weather-related events and their triggers display in the
following columns in the Event Time History data: Gust Speed
(mi/h), Gust Dir (Compass Direction)
On the Session Log tab, the 831C creates a time-stamped
record for every meter action, including Calibrate, Run, Pause,
Resume, Stop, Voice Message, and Sound Recording, and
others. When you store a data file or press the Reset button

, the session log clears and begins a new log.

For the example shown in Figure 4-25 there was a time sync,
a back-erase; measurement paused then resumed, then a
calibration.

Highlight a log entry to see the meter source near the
bottom of the screen.
The source responsible for each logged action is also recorded.
