A.9 Frequency Response
SoundAdvisor Model 831C
In order to be compliant with PTB requirements, the PTB firmware option and
approved firmware must be installed on the Model 831C SLM. When the option
and approved firmware are installed, an indicator will be displayed on the status
bar indicating the PTB seal is intact. If any deviation from the PTB approved state
is detected, the indicator will change to show that the PTB seal has been broken.
Parameters checked:
• 831C-PTB option must not be masked
• NF30-101 option must not be enabled
• PTB approved firmware must be installed
• Must be using a PRM831 or PRM2103 preamp
• Must be using a 377B02 microphone
• Calibration must be within 1.5 dB of the certified sensitivity
• Microphone corrections must be one of the following:
• Off
• FF:RI
• FF:RI 2116
• FF:FF 2116
• FF:90 2116
The state of these parameters as well as the PTB seal state are stored in each data
file and are viewable on the summary page of exported data.
PTB approved firmware can only be installed by an authorized
TAKE NOTE
representative.
The following data was taken using the SoundAdvisor 831C sound level meter
with a PRM831 preamplifier at degrees increasing by 10, starting with 0° and
rotating to 350°. The frequency was measured in Hertz and ranged from ~200 Hz
to 20K Hz.
