Acknowledging Error Messages

When detecting an error, a message is sent by the PROFIBUS I/O module to the
safe PLC. More information about error detection by the F I/O module is available
in the section "Diagnosis" > ... > "Behavior in the Event of an Error" and in the
section "Diagnostics" > ... > "Diagnosis of Errors".
In the F I/O module, passivation of the process data is automatic in the event of
error detection. During this process, all digital inputs and outputs of the F I/O
module are passivated by outputting the substitute values (failsafe values)
instead of actual process values.
To reset the passivation, acknowledgement is required by the user. A call for
depassivation of the process data in the F I/O module is displayed by the F-Host
with the "Acknowledgement Request" signal. The actual signal designation for
the acknowledgement request depends on the manufacturer of the controller.
Two variants are available to carry out the depassivation:
