User-to-User Signalling (UUS)

The service "user-to-user signalling" allows subscribers to exchange a limited vol-
ume of data (128 bytes per subscriber) among themselves over the signalling
channel (D channel) during the phase of connection set-up and clear-down. The
exchange of data takes place even if a call is not answered.
Requirements:
• Both subscribers must have subscribed to the service with the network opera-
tor.
• The ISDN terminals or CTI applications used must support the service. System
terminals do not support the service.
Scope
The PBX supports the service in variants 1 and 3 as per ETS 300 286, UUS1.
UUS is not supported in the private leased-line network and is only available at the
PINX which is connected to the public network.
Application examples:
• Message to all callers, stating that the subscriber will only be available again
later: SC A ¬ SC B
• Reference to a required callback: SC A ® SC B
• Appointment transmission: SC A « SC B
• Advance transmission of a code word or ID for logging into a system (SC B)
from a CTI application: SC A ® SC B
