First-Party CTI
First-party CTI is a single-user solution that requires a direct link (e.g. via a V.24
interface) between the PC and the terminal. The system supports first-party CTI
with the following products:
• Corded system terminals via the Pocket Adapter
• PC Operator Console Office 1550
CTI with Corded Office Terminals
Microsoft TAPI communicates with the PBX via the TAPI TSP driver. This means
that commercially available CTI products that support the TAPI standard can be
used on the system. Ascotel TAPI TSP drivers are specially adapted to the interface
of the Ascotel Pocket Adapter. The Pocket Adapter is looped between the termi-
nal and the PBX. The PA's V.24 cable is connected to a serial interface on the PC:

For first-party CTI the Ascotel TAPI TSP driver 5.1F is used. This driver supports the
Windows operating systems Windows 95, 98 (incl. Windows 98 Second Edition
and Windows ME), NT 4.0 and 2000. Although driver versions 1.0 and 2.0F can
still be used, they do not offer the same spectrum of performance as the 5.1F ver-
sion.
