Expansion Cards in Expansion Slots

The basic systems are expanded by fitting out the expansion slots. The Ascotel
2025 / 2045 mainboard contains 5 expansion slots for expansion cards, of which
only two are enabled on the Ascotel 2025 system. On the Ascotel 2045 system all
5 expansion slots are enabled subject to a licence. The Ascotel 2065 mainboard
contains 14 expansion slots.
The expansion cards are the same for all Ascotel systems. Any card can be used in
any system provided, however, only as many interfaces are enabled as permitted
by the limits of expansion.
Note:
On the Ascotel 2025 only the first two expansion slots on the left-hand
side can be equipped.
The number of expansion cards used in each PBX is determined by the overall sys-
tem limits. There are 3 types of expansion cards available for expanding the basic
systems:

• Trunk cards

• Subscriber cards
• Special cards
2.4.1 Trunk Cards
Trunk cards expand the number of network interfaces available to a system.
