Logging a Handset onto the System

Procedure for logging a handset on to the PBX
Procedure
1. Prepare handset for
logon.
2. Prepare PBX for
logon.
3. Log handset on.
4. Wait for confirma-
tion.
Handsets defined in the PBX as Ascotel DECT subscribers but not yet logged on
are identified as follows:
• With an * in the numbering plan
• With "DECT not logged on" in the subscriber configuration.
A GAP handset subscriber must also identify himself on the Ascotel DECT system
with an access code. The access code must be entered in the Ascotel and in the
GAP handset prior to the logon procedure.

Configuration Steps
Input in AIMS
• Select "Log subscriber
on / off" under
"Mobile: DECT" in the
system configuration.
• Select the subscriber
number.
• "Select "Log
Ascotel DECT sub-
scriber on"; the logon
procedure is started
on the PBX side.
Input on handset
– not logged on any-
where
(ABCD flashing on the
display).
Switch handset off.
Switch handset on.
Logon is carried out
automatically.
"OK" confirmation on
the display.

Input on handset
– already logged on else-
where
Prepare handset as per
Operating Instructions up
to the step with the display
"Home" / "GAP"
Press Foxkey under
"New";
the handset is
checked for authorization
and then assigned its sub-
scriber number and any
group membership (user
group).
"OK" confirmation on the
display.
