8.4.11 Sending and reading Messages

This feature provides a means of sending a text message within the system. Poten-
tial destinations include:
• An internal subscriber
• A subscriber group
• All internal subscribers

When a text message is received the destination
subscribers obtain an attention ringing tone.
Subscriber groups for text messages:
• Up to 8 (Ascotel 2025 / 2045) or 16 (Ascotel 2065) groups can be defined.
• Each group can consist of up to 16 subscribers.
• These subscriber groups are also used for the feature Announcement (see
"Announcement to one or more Subscribers", Page 2.351).
The content of the text message is either user-definable or selectable from a
choice of 16 prepared standard texts (see "Standard Texts", Page 2.367).

Internal only:
• Individual subscriber
• Subscriber group (user groups are not permit-
ted)
• All internal subscribers
Requirement:
Destination subscribers are equipped with a
digital terminal with alphanumerical display
(except for Office 20).
