Region Selection via PISN Subscriber
In each system a PISN subscriber is created for each region. For example, in
system 1 a PISN subscriber 60xxxx is created for Region 60.
Advantage: individual subscribers can also be allocated uniquely and are therefore
obtainable through dialling by name.
Drawback: Only numbers with the same digit length can be reached using the
entry with wildcard characters.
Page 3.120 contains an implementation example for this method.
Region Selection via Local Area Network
In each system a route is created with the region's call number for each region in
the numbering plan. For example, in system 1 a route is provided with call number
60.
Advantage: All the numbers in Region 60 are obtainable, regardless of how many
digits they have.
Drawback: Subscribers in the network cannot be dialled by name.
Note:
This method cannot be used in gateway systems as an incoming call
from the public network cannot be routed to the destination system.
