Configure the SIP Proxy Server

Before you begin
Access the phone administration web page. See
Procedure
Step 1
Select Voice > Ext(n), where n is an extension number.
Step 2
In the Proxy and Registration section, set the parameter values as described in the
for Extension Parameters, on page 375
Step 3
Click Submit All Changes.

SIP Proxy and Registration for Extension Parameters

The following table defines the function and usage of the parameters in the Proxy and Registration section
under the Ext(n) tab in the phone web interface. It also defines the syntax of the string that is added in the
phone configuration file with XML(cfg.xml) code to configure a parameter.

Description
SIP proxy server and port number set by the service
provider for all outbound requests. For example:
192.168.2.100:6060.
• In the phone configuration file with
XML(cfg.xml), enter a string in this format:
<Proxy_1_
ua="na">64.101.154.134</Proxy_1_>
<RTP_Port_Max
ua="na">16482</RTP_Port_Max>
• In the phone web page, enter SIP proxy server
and port number.
When you need to refer to this proxy in another
setting, for example, the speed dial line key
configuration, use the
Default: The port number is optional. If you don't
specify a port, the default port 5060 is used for UDP,
and the default port 5061 is used for TLS.
