Front Panel Operation
5.2.1 SELECT: (Main) Menu
SELECT: Configuration

The SELECT: (main) menu provides user access to all modem configuration, monitor and control
menu branches. See Table 5‐1 for the functional description/overview, and pertinent chapter
section for each menu branch.
Use the arrow keys to select Configuration, Test, Monitor, Info, Store/Ld, Utility, ODU, or
FAST, and then press ENTER.

Description
Use to configure the operating status of the installed optional Plug-in Interface Cards
(PIICs) and optional Optical port (J7 | OPTICAL), plus the operating speed of Gigabit
Ethernet Interface Ports 1 (J5 | DATA) and 2 (J6 | DATA).
(Transmit) Use to define, on a parameter-by-parameter basis, the Tx configuration of
the unit.
(Receive) Use to define, on a parameter-by-parameter basis, the Rx configuration of
the unit.
Use to select and configure the Frequency Reference as External or Internal and fine-
adjust the Internal Hi-Stability 10 MHz Reference.
(Adaptive Coding and Modulation) Use to configure ACM operating parameters.
(DoubleTalk Carrier-in-Carrier) Use to select DoubleTalk Carrier-in-Carrier (CnC)
options.
MENU ITEM CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE
Use to determine if certain operational criteria should be treated as faults or alarms, or
if you desire to mask (ignore) the conditions.
(Remote Control) Use to define whether the unit can be controlled remotely via IP,
serial, or both, and to configure the serial remote parameters.
Note: Local Mode is always enabled.
Use to configure various IP parameters, including IP address/range and gateway
addresses, and to view MAC addresses.
Use to configure optional K4 GZip lossless compression and decompression
operation.
