Front Panel

The function and behavior of the LED indicators, keypad, and VFD (Figure 1‐3) are described in
detail in Chapter 5. FRONT PANEL OPERATION.

Function
The LEDs indicate, in a summary fashion, the status of the modem.
Enter data via the keypad. The keypad comprises six individual
keyswitches. The keys have a positive 'click' action that provides
tactile feedback. Data, prompts, and messages are displayed on
the VFD.
The VFD is an active display, with adjustable brightness, showing
two lines of 40 characters each. Nested menus display all available
options and prompts that guide you in carrying out required actions.
These handles allow easy placement into and removal from a rack.
