FAST Activation Procedure

The FAST options are linked to three option registers: 
 
Register 1 is for Data Rate, ACM, and CnC options; 
 
Register 2 is for Modulation and Demodulation types, and Interface options. 
 
Register 3 is for the K4 GZip lossless compression and decompression option. 
 
Note the following: 
 
When  a  FAST  Access  Code  is  obtained  from  Comtech  EF  Data,  it  will  be  for  a  specific 
register. 
 
The CnC and K4 GZip FAST options require installation of the respective option card into 
the internal modem board.

See  Chapter  5.  FRONT  PANEL  OPERATION for  detailed  information  about  using  the
CDM‐750  Front  Panel  FAST  menus  or  Chapter  6.  ETHERNET‐BASED  REMOTE  PRODUCT 
MANAGEMENT for detailed information about using the CDM‐750 Web Server interface.

Task

Before contacting Comtech EF Data to order FAST feature upgrades, obtain and record the modem's
baseboard serial number:
a)
Use the front panel◄►arrows keys to navigate to the SELECT: FAST menu, and then press
ENTER.

The modem's 9-digit "Baseboard S/N" is displayed on the left hand side of the bottom line, as
shown in this example:

Record Serial Number: ______________________________________
Alternately, the serial number may be obtained
using the CDM-750 Web Server Interface. Log
in to the Web Server Interface, and open the
Status | Info page. The serial number is
provided in the General Information section of
this page:
