7B-46 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (4 A / T)
DTC 51 – ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
STEP
1 1) Check DTC of "Engine and Emission Control
System" referring to SECTION 6E.
Are both ECT and MAP sensor circuits OK?
2 1) Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect
ECM and TCM couplers.
2) Check continuity between terminals "A22"
and "C5" of harness.
Is the continuity?
3 Check resistance between terminal "A22" of
disconnected harness side TCM coupler and
body ground.
Is it infinity?
4 1) Turn ignition switch OFF and connect TCM
couplers.
2) Turn ignition switch ON and check voltage
between terminal "C5" of disconnected
harness side ECM coupler and body ground.
Is it 0 V?
ACTION YES
Go to Step 2.
Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 4.
Substitute a known-good
TCM and recheck.
1. TCM coupler
(viewed from harness side)
2. ECM coupler
(viewed from harness side)
NO
Inspect and repair
referring to the DTC flow
table in SECTION 6E.
"Gr" wire open.
"Gr" wire shorted to
ground.
Substitute a known-good
ECM and recheck.
