5.9.1 RADIUS
RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service) authentication is a popular protocol
used to authenticate users by means of an external server instead of (or in addition to) an
internal device user database that is limited to the memory capacity of the device. In essence,
RADIUS authentication allows you to validate an unlimited number of users from a central
location. In the following graphic, the RADIUS server (A) authenticates users 1, 2 and 3.

5.10 802.1X PNAC Port Setup Screen
Click ACL > 802.1X PNAC to display the screen shown next. PNAC stands for Port-based
Network Access Control. Use this screen to configure IEEE 802.1X settings.

DESCRIPTION
Use the drop-down list boxes to select an DSL port on a line card for which you wish
to configure IEEE 802.1x authentication.
Click Load to display the port's current settings.
Select this check box to turn on IEEE 802.1x authentication on the system.
