The check was successful and the new software is now active:

Click on "OK" to exit and close HexLoad.
Disconnect the data-transfer cable from the unit.
Disconnect the instrument from the mains supply.
Turn the unit around and slide the two switches in the battery
compartment towards the front of the unit.
Re-insert the batteries into the battery compartment and close
the compartment.
The instrument is now ready for use again with the new
software.
Press the keys [Mode] [3] [4] to delete any data and thus to
initialize the memory system (section 1.7).
