Caution: Avoid placing direct pressure to the top of the processor package. Always remove the
power cord first before adding, removing or changing any hardware components.
Caution: Do not place the node board on a conductive surface. A conductive surface can damage
the BIOS battery and prevent the system from booting. Always place the node board on an
ESD-safe worksurface.
Caution: Make sure that you install the processor into the CPU socket before you install the
heatsink. The node board can support either one or two processors. If installing one processor only,
install it into CPU socket 1.
Note: SGI's replacement Xeon CPU package contains a heatsink assembly. Make sure that the
black "pick-and-place" (PnP) cap is installed; otherwise, contact the SGI immediately.
