displayed by the BIOS:
CHS Format
• Type: This item displays the type of IDE or SATA Device.
• Cylinders: This item indicates the status of Cylinders.
• Headers: This item indicates the number of headers.
• Sectors: This item displays the number of sectors.
• Maximum Capacity: This item displays the maximum storage capacity of the system.
• Multi-Sector Transfers: This item enables you to specify the number of sectors per block to
be used in multi-sector transfer. The options are Disabled, 4 Sectors, 8 Sectors, and 16
Sectors.
• LBA Mode Control: This item determines whether the BIOS accesses the IDE Channel 0
Master Device via the LBA mode. The options are Enabled and Disabled.
• 32 Bit I/O: This option enables you to enable or disable the function of 32-bit data transfer.
The options are Enabled and Disabled.
• Transfer Mode: This option allows the user to set the transfer mode. The options are
Standard, Fast PIO1, Fast PIO2, Fast PIO3, Fast PIO4, FPIO3/DMA1 and FPIO4/DMA2.
• Ultra DMA Mode: This option allows the user to select Ultra DMA Mode. The options are
Disabled, Mode 0, Mode 1, Mode 2, Mode 3, Mode 4, and Mode 5.
