Power Supply Replacement

The SGI Altix XE250 has one or two 900W power supplies. The power supplies have the
capability of operating at 100 - 240 input volts. A single failed power supply can be replaced while
the system is operating if you have two redundant power supplies.
If the power supply unit fails, the system shuts down and you must replace the power supply.
Replacement power supplies can be ordered directly from SGI customer service.
To replace a power supply (refer to
1.
Unplug the power cord from the failed power supply.
2. Use the handle to grasp the power supply.
3. Move the lever to the right to unseat the power supply connector from the chassis.
4. Slide the power supply straight out of the chassis.
5. Install the replacement power supply and connect the power cord.
