33.6.6.1 Internet Explorer Warning Messages

When you attempt to access the NXC HTTPS server, a Windows dialog box pops up
asking if you trust the server certificate. Click View Certificate if you want to
verify that the certificate is from the NXC.
You see the following Security Alert screen in Internet Explorer. Select Yes to
proceed to the Web Configurator login screen; if you select No, then Web
Configurator access is blocked.

33.6.6.2 Avoiding Browser Warning Messages
Here are the main reasons your browser displays warnings about the NXC's HTTPS
server certificate and what you can do to avoid seeing the warnings:
• The issuing certificate authority of the NXC's HTTPS server certificate is not one
of the browser's trusted certificate authorities. The issuing certificate authority
of the NXC's factory default certificate is the NXC itself since the certificate is a
self-signed certificate.
• For the browser to trust a self-signed certificate, import the self-signed
certificate into your operating system as a trusted certificate.
• To have the browser trust the certificates issued by a certificate authority,
import the certificate authority's certificate into your operating system as a
trusted certificate. Refer to
484
Appendix D on page 619
for details.
