2. If you enabled NTP, enter the IP address of at least one system on your
network. This is the system that will be used to set the library's time and date.
3. If you disabled NTP, manually enter the current date and time by touching
each square and entering the current value. The library clock is on a 24-hour
cycle. For example, 4:00 pm would be entered as 16 (HH) and 00 (MM).
4. Touch Apply to save the date and time settings and to continue.
5. Touch Close when you are done setting the date and time.
Read "Understanding Cartridge Assignment in the Library" on page 5-1 before
beginning this step.
1. Place a cleaning cartridge in the I/O Station.
2. Touch System to assign the cleaning cartridge to the entire library system and
not to a specific logical library.
3. Select Operations → Inserting Cleaning Media.
4. Select the designed destination slot for the cleaning cartridge.
5. Touch OK.
6. Repeat this procedure for each cleaning cartridge.
Read "Understanding Cartridge Assignment in the Library" on page 5-1 before
beginning this step.
Note:
This library reads bar code labels to identify the specific cartridges in each
slot. Ensure that all cartridges placed in the library have appropriate bar
code labels.
Two methods are available for populating your library with data cartridges:
v Bulk loading
v Importing via the I/O Station
Only bulk load cartridges into your library if the following criteria is met:
v if your logical library is licensed for full capacity
v if you are loading blank cartridges
v if cleaning slots have been assigned and hold cleaning cartridges
Note: Do not bulk load cartridges into the bottom two rows of the library. Also, if
your library is 23U or larger, do not bulk load cartridges into the top slot of
column 4 or column 5. These storage slots are not accessible by the robot
due to mechanical limitations.
Storage slots are not assigned consecutively in a logical library. To ensure that your
cartridges get placed in the correct logical library, import your data cartridges via
the I/O Station following the procedure below.
1. Determine the number of available storage slots in each logical library by
referring to the Library Map on the Web User Interface (Monitor System →
Library Map).
