Removing and Installing the Battery
Electrical System: Service and Repairs
Battery-electrolyte is corrosive and can burn skin and eyes and
damage clothing.
While working with the batteries, use extreme caution to avoid
splashing or spilling of the electrolyte. Always wear the safety
goggles and a face shield while working with batteries.

Be careful when removing the battery cables and ensure that you do
not damage the terminal posts or cable connectors.
1. Ensure that the key switch and all accessories are in the O
2. Open the hood.
3. Loosen the knob and remove the battery cover from the machine.
4. Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery terminal, then disconnect
the positive (+) cable from the battery terminal.
5.
Remove the fasteners and the battery hold down clamp.
6.
Make sure that the battery filler caps are secure (if applicable) and remove
the battery from the battery tray.
