• Read freeze frame data using the intelligent tester. The ECM records vehicle and driving condition
information as freeze frame data the moment a DTC is stored. When troubleshooting, freeze frame
data can be helpful in determining whether the vehicle was running or stopped, whether the engine
was warmed up or not, whether the air-fuel ratio was lean or rich, as well as other data recorded at the
time of a malfunction (See page ES-45).

CONFIRM DTC
2GR-FE ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM – SFI SYSTEM
(a) Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 10 seconds.
(b) Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 10 seconds.
(d) Connect an intelligent tester to the DLC3.
(e) Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester ON.
(f)
Select the following menu items: DIAGNOSIS /
ENHANCED OBD II / DTC INFO / CURRENT CODES.
(g) Confirm DTCs and freeze frame data.
If any EVAP system DTCs are set, the malfunctioning
area can be determined using the table below.
NOTICE:
If the reference pressure difference between the first
and second checks is greater than the specification,
all the DTCs relating to the reference pressure
(P043E, P043F, P2401, P2402 and P2419) are stored.
