2. Turn the engine start switch to "ON," and
then check the engine stop lanyard
switch for continuity at the 10-pin main
harness coupler (remote control box
end). Check the wiring harness or
replace the engine stop lanyard switch if
out of specification.

pler.

1. Measure the CDI unit 1 output peak
voltage. Replace if below specification.

NOTE:
• To prevent the engine from starting when
cranking it, be sure to disconnect both
spark plug caps.
• Do not remove the clip from the engine stop
lanyard switch.
• When using the manual starter to crank the
engine, the voltage values may vary
depending on the speed at which the
starter handle is pulled.
• Be sure to check the charge coil and pulser
coil before measuring the CDI unit output
peak voltage.

Checking the thermoswitch
1. Disconnect the thermoswitch 1 connec-
tors.
2. Start the engine, and then measure the
input voltage at the thermoswitch con-
nectors (wiring harness end). Check the
wiring harness if out of specification.
