NOTE:
• If the bearing is damaged, replace the
armature assembly.
• Do not reuse the oil seal.
Checking the brush holder and
brush
1. Check the brush holder assembly for
continuity. Replace the power tilt motor
base if out of specification.

NOTE:
The brush holder and circuit breaker cannot
be removed from the power tilt motor base
assembly; if either part is damaged, replace
the power tilt motor base.
Power tilt motor base continuity
Terminal 1–3 (G)
Terminal 2–4 (L)
For all terminal combinations
not listed above.
2. Measure the length of each brush.
Replace the brushes if below specifica-
tion.

Motor brush standard length:
6.0 mm (0.24 in)
Wear limit a: 3.0 mm (0.12 in)

Assembling the power tilt motor

CAUTION:
• Do not reuse the O-ring, always replace
it with a new one.
• Do not allow grease or oil to contact the
commutator of the armature.
1. Install a new oil seal into the power tilt
motor base as shown.

Needle bearing attachment 2:
90890-06614
2. Install the springs 3, brushes (short
lead) 4 and (long lead) 5, and brush
holder screws 6 to the power tilt motor
base as shown.
