Troubleshooting by condition

3. Troubleshooting of network functions
Possible cause
Failed to receive a
document using POP3.
Possible cause
The E-mail address of the
account to which the mail
is to be distributed, has
not been registered.
The address of the trans-
fer destination is incorrect.
Other unknown causes.
Possible cause
Required software
settings are not set
completely.
Transmission data is too
large to be transmitted
and the fax has not been
received because of
restriction of a server.
Communication mode of
the gateway transmission
is not set correctly.
Action to be taken
• Confirm that the POP3 user name,
POP3 password, and POP3 server
address are correctly specified in
[Admin.] → [Network Settings].
Action to be taken
• Set an E-mail address for mail distribu-
tion. Register the E-mail address of
the account whose mail distribution
has been set.
• Check the mail address of the one-
touch key to which mails are to be
transferred.
• An error mail may be returned to the
E-mail address of the account, to
which mail distribution has been set.
Check the details.
Action to be taken
• Make the required network settings.
• Make data size small by reducing the
number of pages, and retransmit.
• Touch [Allow] for gateway TX and set
communication mode correctly.
