BASIC OPERATION
D About the 5 MHz band operation (USA version only)
Operation on the 5 MHz frequency band is allowed
on 5 discrete frequencies and must adhere to the
following:
• The USB, USB Data, CW and PSK modes
• Maximum of 100 watts ERP
• 2.8 kHz bandwidth (maximum)
It is your responsibility to set all controls so that
transmission in this frequency band meets the
stringent conditions under which amateur operations
may use these frequencies.
NOTE: We recommend that you store these
frequencies, modes and filter settings into memory
channels, for easy recall.
To assist you in operating within the rules specified
by the FCC, transmission is illegal on any
frequencies other than the five shown in the tables
to the right.

(Effective Radiated Power)
• For the USB and USB Data modes
The FCC specifies center frequencies on the 5 MHz
frequency band. However, the transceiver displays
carrier frequency. Therefore, tune the transceiver
to 1.5 kHz below the specified FCC channel center
frequency.

• For the CW and PSK modes
The transceiver displays the center frequency.
Therefore, tune the transceiver to the specified FCC
channel frequency when you operate in these modes.
