Adjust the brightness.
Adjust the brightness of the image using the ND filter.
Press the ND filter IN/OUT switch to the [IN] (lower) side
to bring the filter into the optical path. Brightness can be
adjusted by turning the dia-illumination brightness control
knob, but care must be taken because the color of the
image will change. (See Chapter 3, "3 Adjusting the
Brightness of a Diascopic Image".)
Photomicrography voltage setting: for
improved color reproduction
Changing the lamp voltage for brightness
adjustment will affect the lamp color temperature
and alter the color balance of the image.
Increasing the voltage will result in a bluish tint,
while reducing the voltage results in a reddish tint.
If accurate color reproduction is critical, setting the
dia-illumination brightness control knob (on left of
the main body) to the
brightness to the photomicrography voltage best
suited for image captures. (The photomicrography
voltage is adjusted/set at the factory and cannot
be changed by the user.) To adjust the brightness
further without changing color, bring the NCB11
filter in the filter cassette into the optical path and
use the ND filter for adjustment. (See Chapter 3,
"3 Adjusting the Brightness of a Diascopic
Image".)
