1I-11 Starting System:
• Install the guide (2) to the generator rotor.
NOTE
The arrow mark "B" must face to the
generator rotor side.
"B"
• Apply THREAD LOCK to the bolts, and then tighten
them to the specified torque with the special tools.
: Thread lock cement 99000–32030
(THREAD LOCK CEMENT SUPER 1303 or
equivalent)
Special tool
(A): 09930–44530 (Rotor holder)
(B): 09930–11920 (Torx bit (JT40H))
Tightening torque
Starter clutch bolt (a): 25 N·m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.0 lbf-
ft)

• Apply engine oil to the bushing of the starter driven
gear.
• Fit the key (3) in the key slot on the crankshaft.

• Install the generator rotor assembly onto crankshaft.

Starter Clutch Inspection

Refer to "Starter Clutch Removal and Installation
(Page 1I-10)".

Refer to "Generator Removal and Installation in
Section 1J (Page 1J-4)".
1) Install the starter driven gear onto the starter clutch.
2) Turn the starter driven gear by hand to inspect the
starter clutch for a smooth movement. The gear
turns in one direction only. If a large resistance is felt
for rotation, inspect the starter clutch or the starter
clutch contacting surface on the starter driven gear
for wear or damage.
If they are found to be damaged, replace them with
new ones.
