1A-37 Engine General Information and Diagnosis:
Step
4 1) Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2) Connect the ECM coupler and IAP sensor coupler.
3) Insert the needle pointed probes to the lead wire coupler.
4) Start the engine at idle speed and measure the IAP
sensor output voltage at the wire side coupler between
the W/Bl wire and B/Br wire.
Special tool
(A): 09900–25008 (Multi-circuit tester set)
(B): 09900–25009 (Needle pointed probe set)
Tester knob indication
Voltage ( )
IAP sensor #1 output voltage
Approx. 2.7 V at idle speed
((+) terminal: W/Bl – (–) terminal: B/Br)
Is the voltage OK?

Go to Step 5.
No
• Check the vacuum
hose for crack or
damage.
• Open or short circuit
in the W/Bl wire.
• If vacuum hose and
wire is OK, replace
the IAP sensor with a
new one. Refer to
"IAP Sensor (#1)

Installation in Section
1C (Page 1C-2)".
