POSITIONING OF THE Elite T3

The Transmitters (TMTs) emit l o w frequency signal s that radiate
outward in semicircul a r patterns that are paral l e l to the l e ngth
dimension of the TMT. A coil e d antenna inside the El i te T3
receives the signal s when it is positioned within a zone paral l e l
to or at a 45 degree angl e to the TMT as il l u strated on page 76.
The El i te T3 cannot effectivel y receive a signal when it is hel d out
to the sides of the TMT or hel d at distances greater than 6 feet (2
meters) in front of the TMT. Best reception is achieved when the
El i te T3 is within 3 feet (1 meter) of the TMT.
hen instal l e d into the high pressure ports of the Regul a tor First
Stages, the TMTs must be positioned so that they face horizon-
tal l y outward from the Tank Val v es.

Link Interruption Underwater

During a dive, you may at times move the El i te T3 out of the
signal pattern of the TMT, resul t ing in a temporary interruption of
the Link signal .
An interruption l a sting greater than 15 seconds wil l cause the
Tank Pressure val u e to fl a sh, the Audibl e Al a rm to sound, and
message TMTx > LINK > LOST to scrol l (Fig. 61). The Link wil l
be restored within 4 seconds after the El i te T3 is moved back
into its correct position.
