The programs within the Elite T3 simulate the absorption of nitrogen into the body by using a mathematical model. This model is merely a way to apply a limited set of data to a large range of experiences. The Elite T3 dive computer model is based upon the latest research and experiments in decompression theory.

WARNING: Prior to diving with the Elite T3, you must also read and understand the AERIS Dive Computer Safety and Reference Manual, Doc. No. 1 -7 03, which provides Important Warnings and Safety Recommendations as well as general product information.
POSITIONING OF THE Elite T3 The Transmitters (TMTs) emit l o w frequency signal s that radiate outward in semicircul a r patterns that are paral l e l to the l e ngth dimension of the TMT. A coil e d antenna inside the El i te T3 receives the signal s when it is positioned within a zone paral l e l to or at a 45 degree angl e to the TMT as il l u strated on page 76.
Page 78
Strobe fl a shes. The Link wil l be restored within 4 seconds. DIVE TIME REMAINING (DTR) One of the most important pieces of information on AERIS dive computers is the Dive Time Remaining numeric displ a y. The El i te T3 constantl y monitors No Decompression status, Oxygen Accumul a tion, and Breathing Gas Consumption Rate.
Page 79
This is a feature of the Decompression Model that is the basis for Mul t il e vel Diving, one of the most important advantages that AERIS dive computers offer. The El i te T3's al g orithm is based upon Hal d anes theory using maximum al l o wabl e nitrogen l e vel s devel o ped by Merril l Spen- cer.
Page 80
Oxygen Accumulation Time Remaining (OTR) hen the El i te T3 is set for Nitrox operation, Oxygen Accumul a - tion (saturation or exposure) during a dive, or 24 hour period, appears graphical l y as the O2 Bar Graph (O2BG) (Fig. 64a). As time remaining before reaching the Oxygen Exposure Limit decreases, segments are added to the O2BG.
Page 81
Air Consumption and Depth are continuousl y monitored and Air Time Remaining refl e cts any change in circumstances. For exampl e , when a buddy starts breathing from your Octopus or you suddenl y find yoursel f swimming against a strong current and begin breathing more rapidl y , the El i te T3 wil l recognize the change and adjust the ATR accordingl y .
Page 82
You shoul d immediatel y initiate a control l e d Ascent whil e monitoring your Tank Pressure. However, there is no reason to panic, the El i te T3 has al l o wed for the Air necessary for a safe Ascent incl u ding the No Deco Safety Stop, if set On, and any Decompression Stops required.

CONTROL OF DISPLAYS During Dive Modes, there is a Main (Defaul t ) Displ a y of important information rel e vant to the specific mode that the El i te T3 is operating in (No Deco, Deco, GAUG, FREE, etc.).
