IGNITION SYSTEM
IGNITION TIMING
Remove the right side cover (page 3-6).
Start the engine and warm it up to operating
temperature.
Stop the engine and remove the timing hole cap
from the rear crankcase cover.
Connect the timing light and tachometer.
Start the engine, let it idle and check the ignition
timing.
TIMING LIGHT I
The ignition timing is correct if the "F" mark on the
flywheel aligns with the index mark on the rear
crankcase cover at idle.
Increase the engine speed and make sure the "F"
mark begins to move.
INDEX VIARK

"F" MARK
Coat a new O-ring with oil and install it onto the
timing hole cap.
Install the timing hole cap and tighten it to the
specified torque.
TORQUE: 10 N m (1.0 kgf-m, 7 Ibfft)
Install the right side cover (page 3-6).
