BRAKE SYSTEM
Coat a new O-ring with molybdenum disulfide
grease and install it into the propeller shaft groove.
Put the final drive assembly on a floor jack or other
adjustable support and place the assembly under
the main frame.
While adjusting the jack height, move the final drive
assembly forward and connect the propeller shaft
into the universal joint.
Be careful not to
disconnect the pro-
peller shaft and uni-
versal joint.
Set the final drive assembly into the main frame and
seat the propeller shaft securely to align the bolt
holes, then insert the mounting bolts from the left
side.
Install new mounting nuts but do not tighten them
yet.
Route the breather hoses properly (page 1-20) and
connect them.
Insert the sub-frame joint bolt bolts from the inside.
Install new joint nuts.
Tighten the four mounting nuts and joint nuts alter-
nately.
TORQUE:
Joint nut:
34 N-m (3.5 kgf-m, 25 Ibfft)
Mounting bolt (main frame):
34 N-m (3.5 kgf-m, 25 Ibfft)
Mounting bolt (sub-frame):
39 N-m (4.0 kgf m, 29 Ibfft)
Install the rear shock absorber upper mounting
bolts and nuts, and tighten them.
