FUEL SYSTEM (PGM-FI)
5. TP Sensor Output Line Open Circuit Inspection
Check for continuity at the Yellow wire between
the MAP/TP sensor 5P (Black) connector terminal
and the PCM 33P (Gray) connector terminal.
TOOL:
Test probe 07ZAJ-RDJA110
Connection: B14 - Yellow
Is there continuity?
YES - GO TO STEP 6.
NO - Open circuit in Yellow wire
6. TP Sensor Output Line Short Circuit Inspection
Disconnect the MAP/TP sensor 5P (Black) con-
nector.
Check for continuity between the MAP/TP sensor
5P (Black) connector terminal of the wire harness
side and ground.
Connection: Yellow - Ground
Is there continuity?
YES - Short circuit in Yellow wire
NO - GO TO STEP 7.
7. TP Sensor Inspection
Replace the MAP/TP sensor with a known good
one.
Reset the PCM (page 6-14).
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch "O".
Check the TP sensor with the HDS pocket tester.
Is DTC 8-1 indicated?
YES - Replace the PCM with a known good
one, and recheck
NO - Faulty original MAP/TP sensor
DTC 8-2 (TP SENSOR HIGH VOLTAGE)
1. TP Sensor System Inspection
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop
switch "O".
Check the TP sensor with the HDS pocket tester.
Is about 5 V indicated?
YES - GO TO STEP 3.
NO - GO TO STEP 2.
