SUB-TRANSMISSION/GEARSHIFT LINKAGE
REAR CRANKCASE COVER
REMOVAL
Remove the following:
- left front mud guard (page 3-8)
- inner fenders (page 3-9)
- front center grille (page 3-10)
- center mud guards (page 3-7)
- engine side covers (page 3-17)
- engine guard (page 3-17)
- starter motor (page 22-6)
- final drive/sub-frame assembly (page 19-12)
Disconnect the front propeller shaft from the output
shaft (page 8-6).
Disconnect the oil temperature sensor 2P (Black)
connector and gear position switch 3P (Natural)
connector.
Release the gear position switch wire from the
clamp on the cable holder.
Shift the sub-transmission into neutral.
Remove the following:
- two cable holder bolts
- pinch bolt
- selector arm A
3P (NATURAL) CONNECTOR
2P (BLACK) CONNECTOR
Release the gear position switch wire from the wire
clip on the oil filler pipe.
Remove the bolts, gear position switch and O-ring.
Remove the following:
- alternator cover and reduction gears (page 11-9)
- two pipe bolts
- oil filler pipe and O-ring
two 8-mm bolts
oil drain bolt, sealing washer and O-ring
eleven 6-mm bolts
side cover stays
rear crankcase cover
