DTMF MEMORY ENCODER
I Programming a DTMF code
DTMF codes are used for autopatching, accessing repeaters,
controlling other equipment, etc. The transceiver has 8 DTMF
memory channels (d1– d8) for storage of often-used DTMF
codes of up to 16 digits.
NOTE: DTMF memory channels are commonly used for
both bands. Therefore, programming each band is not
necessary.
➀
Push [DTMF] once and "d" appears in place of the main
band's 100 MHz digit as shown below.
"d" appears in place of
the 100 MHz digit.
➁
Push [
SET] to enter the programming condition.
(VOL)
➂
Rotate the main band's tuning dial to select the desired
channel.
➃
Push [SET] or [MONI] to select the cursor.
➄
Rotate the main band's dial to select a digit.
• "E" stands for "M" and "F" stands for "#."
➅
Repeat steps ➃ and ➄ until the last digit is entered.
• The S/RF indicator shows the digit group. The indication in-
creases every 6 digits.
• Select "–" to clear the remaining digits when programming over a
previously used memory channel.

➆
Push the main band's tuning dial to exit the programming
condition.
I Clearing the DTMF memory
contents
➀
Push [DTMF] to turn the DTMF memory encoder ON.
➁
Push [SET] to enter the programming condition.
➂
Rotate the main band's tuning dial to select the desired
channel.
➃
Push [SET L] (for VHF display) or [MONI] (for UHF display)
to activate the 1st digit.
➄
Rotate the main band's tuning dial to select "–" and clear
the memory channel contents.
➅
Push the main band's tuning dial to exit the programming
condition.

Questions and answers
Set sub-audible tone to 67 Hz. How do I save it so that it transmits?
To save the sub-audible tone setting to 67 Hz on the Icom IC-2710H for transmission, follow these steps:
1. Enter the desired frequency and ensure the radio is in VFO mode.
2. Access the tone setting by pressing the appropriate button (e.g., [SET] or similar).
3. Navigate to the sub-audible tone frequency setting using the tuning dial.
4. Select 67.0 Hz as the tone frequency.
5. Exit the tone setting mode by pressing [ECLR] or the tuning dial.
6. To save the tone setting permanently, overwrite the memory channel with the updated settings.
Note: If you do not overwrite the memory channel, the tone setting will be cleared when switching to memory/call mode.
