I Tone squelch operation
The tone squelch opens only when receiving a signal with the
same pre-programmed subaudible tone. This function can be
activated on both bands with separate tone frequencies si-
multaneously. To operate the tone squelch function, an op-
tional UT-104 is necessary.

Push the desired band's tuning dial.

Set the operating frequency.

Program the subaudible tone frequency in set mode.

T] for 1 sec., several times until "T SQL" ap-

• The pager or code squelch can be used together with the tone
squelch. (p. 62)

When the received signal includes the correct tone, the
squelch opens and the signal can be heard.
• When the received signal includes an incorrect tone, the squelch
does not open. However, the S/RF indicator shows the received
signal strength.
• To open the accessed band's squelch manually, push the ac-
cessed band's [MONI].

Operate the transceiver in the normal way (push [PTT] to
transmit; release [PTT] to receive).
