Site Requirements

Environmental Requirements

The area around the array must be cooled sufficiently so it does not overheat. Chapter 8,
Reference and Regulatory, contains environmental specifications for the Disk Array FC60.
Refer to that section for the required environmental specifications.

Electrical Requirements

The site must be able to provide sufficient power to meet the needs of the devices in the
cabinet(s). For high availability operation, two separate sources, preferably an
uninterruptible power source (UPS), must to be provided. Make sure that the UPS or other
power source is capable of supplying an amount of power equal to the sum of the VA units
required to power the Disk Array FC60 and any other peripherals installed in the cabinet.
The Disk Array FC60 is scalable and may contain from one to six disk enclosures. The
power requirement varies according to the number of disk enclosures installed. Providing
power for a full six-disk enclosure will ensure sufficient power in the event of future
scaleup.
Table 8
shows the steady state operating current and in-rush current for the controller
options. Use this table to determine the proper number of PDUs or PDRUs and number of
receptacles you will need. Make sure all electrical wiring to the service point (plug) is
adequately sized to carry in-rush and steady state currents.
