Hot Swappable Component!
This section describes how to replace the MIA. Replacing the MIA requires that the Fibre
Channel cable be removed. If the Disk Array FC60 contains two controllers, the system
may not need to be shut down provided LVM will route data the through the other fibre
channel loop to the other array controller. However, if the disk array contains a single
controller module, host I/Os to the disk array must be stopped before performing this
procedure.
This procedure must be performed by a trained service representative.
To replace the MIA, complete the following steps:
1.
If a the array contains a single controller module, shut down the host.
2.
Disconnect the Fibre Channel cable from the MIA being replaced: simply pull the
connector (both cables) out of the socket. Ensure that the correct cable is being
removed, if the good cable is removed, a data restore may be required to bring the array
back to operation.
3.
Loosen the two captive screws in the MIA and pull it off the connector. The RFI gaskets
should remain attached to the connector.
4.
Insert the replacement MIA and tighten the two screws.
5.
Remove the two dust shields from the ends of the MIA fibre connector by pulling them
out of the MIA.
6.
Plug the Fibre Channel cable connector into the MIA. The keyed ridges should be up.
