5. Press either orange button (3 or 4) until Maintenance
Mode PIN screen is displayed.
6. Press black button (6).
The LCD display will prompt the operator to enter the
digits for the maintenance mode PIN.
NOTE
The default PIN for maintenance mode is 6789.
7. Use the orange buttons (3 and 4) to select and the
black button (6) to enter the digits for the
maintenance mode pin. After the correct PIN has
been entered, the LCD will be in maintenance mode.
8. Use the orange buttons (3 and 4) until the Backlap
Select screen is displayed.
9. Press black button (6) to enter backlap mode.

The LCD display will prompt the operator to engage the
mow switch (7).
10. Place mow switch (7) in the on position. If cancel (Ø)
is selected, display will return to the Backlap Select
screen.

The LCD display will prompt the operator to engage and
release the Operator Presence Control (OPC) bail (1).

11. Engage and release the OPC bail (1). The reel motor
will begin turning, a slow beeping alarm (one beep
every 3 seconds) will sound, and a 5-minute timer
will start. If cancel (Ø) is selected, display will return
to the Backlap Select screen.
The LCD display will prompt the operator to adjust the
reel speed.
12. Use the orange buttons (3 and 4) to adjust the reel
speed between 150–400 rpm. Press the black button

(6) to cancel (Ø) backlap.
13. Apply lapping compound with a long-handled brush
along the entire length of the reel (180 grit is
recommended).
14. Exit backlap mode by allowing the 5-minute timer to
expire, selecting cancel (Ø) on the LCD display,
placing the mow switch (7) in the off position, moving
the OPC bail (1), moving the speed paddle (2), or
turning the key switch (5) to the off position.
15. Move the mow switch (7) to the off position, stop
engine (if equipped), and move key switch (5) to the
off position. Disconnect the gen-set/battery pack

connector.
16. Carefully and thoroughly remove all lapping
compound from reel and bedknife before running the
reel in the forward direction.
