This appendix outlines the applicable fuses that can be used for
branch circuit protection for ACH580 drives. The drive
ACH580 has been tested by ABB in accordance with UL Stan-
dard 61800-5-1 on a circuit having available system fault cur-
rent of 100 kA maximum using fusing protection. See
Table AL for models that are applicable for Short Circuit Cur-
rent Rating (SCCR) protection.
To meet the SCCR Safety Requirements described in UL Standard
61800-5-1, it is recommended to utilize the fusing protection listed
in Table AM. The use of alternative electrical protection brands is
permissible only if the fuses are rated under UL Standards 248-8
(CLASS J) or 248-15 (CLASS T) and have been tested by ABB.
