POWER STEERING PRESSURE FILTER
The power steering filter is located i(l the upper right side of
theenginecompartment (figure 11-105). This isa pressure line
filter. At regular intervals or 50.000 miles (80.000 km). the filter
should be removed and replaced.
NOTE: This riller should be replaced in
conjunction with servicing and replacing
the reservoir rllter element. The power steer-
ing system should be bled at this time.

1.
Shut down the system and release all pressure in filter
line.
2. Unscrew the bowl and lower it vertically to clear the ele-
ment assembly. See figure 11-106.
3. Remove the element from the filter head by pulling it from
the element locator. Discard and replace
with
new element
4.
Install new element by pushing
it
onto the locator.
5. It is recommended that the
bow!
0-ring be replaced
before refitting to the housing.
POWER STEERING RESERVOIR AND FILTER
A power steering reservoir. filter and sight gauge (figure
11-107) are located in the upper right hand side of engine com-
partment. The filter element should be serviced at the same
intervals as repiacing the power steering pressure filter element.
