Blower Gear Box Component Parts.
BLOWER BELT AIR CYLINDER
An air operated blower belt adjusting cyhnder is installed to
ensure the correct tension on the blower gear box drive belt.
Access to the air cylinder can be gained through the rear
engine compartment

ADJUSTMENT
To maintain the correct tension on the blower belt. the air
cyI1nder must be properly ad1usted \ivith the air system under
normal pressure and the pressure regulating valve set at 21 psi

11 the snaft Is not within these tolerances. adjust the cylinder
as follows:
1 Loosen the 1am nut on the shaft end of the cylinder.
2 Rotate the shaft to attam the specified length
3. Tighten the 1am nut.
NEW BELTS
When a new blower dnve belt 1s installed. it may be difficult to

attain the specified shaft length on the air cylinder. The drive
belt stretches with normal wear. and after approximately 500
miles 1800 km) the shaft length should return to 1 ¼" ..:!:..

At the end of this run-in period the shaft length should be
checked and. it necessary. adjusted.
