6 To test the Overvoltage Protection Feature. place a volt
ohmmeter between ·A 1" and ground at the regulator 150V0( ' .

With the engine running at fast idle ino load) SLOWLY
move the adIustment screw at the regulator clockwise and
observe the voltage reading. The alternator should "drop out·
oetween 30 and 31 voits.
CAUTION:
If
the alternator does no! .. drop
out" at 31 volts. DO NOT proceed any
further. (No Overvoltage Protection.) Re-
adjust the regulator to 27.2VOC.
8 If the alternator does "drop out.· turn the regulator
adiustment screw back Icoun!erclockw1se1 approximately ;
turn and turn the master switch off at the Clash.
9 Start the engine ano adiust the regulator back to 272VDC.
10 If any one of the above test steps fa,Is. replace the defec-
tive ur:it.
ENGINE HEATERS (OPTIONAL)
BLOCK ANO OIL PAN HEATERS
An engine block heater is available as optional equipment.
It
rs 115 volt 1500 watt. single loop element type. fitted in the block
behind the crankcase dipstick.
An

pan ImmersIon heater ,s also available as optional
'Qurpment It Is a 115 volt. 200 wait single loop element type
1tted in the side of the oil pan.
Both heaters are supplied with a 3116" HPN cord and plug
set when ordered separately. When ordered together. or with
the optional lavatory tank 1mme!sion heater. a Junction box is
supplied. This box Is installed
in
an external access door at the
rear of the coach
These heaters are non-serviceable except for the cords and
,t tauity must be replaced.
ALARMSTATS (WITH NON-OOEC ENGINES)
Two alarmstats are installed. one at the front of each cylinder
head to warn the operator 1f the engine overheats.
When the engine coolant nses to a specific temperature. the
alarmstat closes the electncal circuit. causing the HOT ENGINE
te<1-taIe light on the instrument panel to illuminate and the
buner to sound
in
the driver's compartment. The activation of
tne aIarmstats will cause the engine to automatically shut down.

Tne horns are operated by pressing a button at the center of
the steering wheel or oy using the electric foot switch !When

horns are used. the foot switch Is replaced by an air

The tone is created by a vibrating diaphragm which
causes·;v, air column to vibrate.
No maintenance Is normally required except a current
ao,,:stment c,f me ad1usting screws. One horn produces a high
note and the other a low note
