7. Disconnect the CHM cable from the J9 inner connector on the SMC
controller card.
See Figure 6-16.

8. Lift the SMC controller card out from the back of the unit.
The alignment pins disengage the J1 connector. The ESD shield is part of the
SMC card; do not remove it.
