Delay Volume and Time

Page 120
The Delay Volume is the fluidic volume between a detector and the
separation point of the downstream fraction collection valve. It is
essential to determine the volume and set it in the system before
starting fraction collection operation.
The product provides the feature Automated Delay Volume
Determination (DVD), with which the delay volume can be determined
conveniently and set in the system automatically.
The delay time can be automatically calculated and set in the system
based on the delay volume and specified method configuration, e.g.
pump flow rate.
The correct delay time ensures optimal fraction collection of the target
peak with high recovery and low carry over.
