Fuel system bleeding
WARNING
Pressurized system!
Only use the bleed screw to bleed air from the fuel system. DO NOT loosen the fuel or injector lines
to bleed air. Injury or damage can occur. Fuel or injector lines are under very high pressure.
Failure to comply could result in death or serious injury.
WARNING
Fire hazard!
Leaking fuel could cause a fire. DO NOT perform the bleed procedure while the engine is hot.
Failure to comply could result in death or serious injury.
Air gets trapped in the fuel system after maintenance or repair.
Also, air enters the fuel system when tank has become completely empty.
Moreover, air eventually gets dissolved in the fuel after the machine has been stored for a quite long time.
The air must be thus bled away from the fuel system in order to grant a proper fuel supply, and to avoid severe
damages to the high pressure injection components.
To bleed air from the fuel system proceed as follows:
1. Open the fuel cut valve.
2. Close the engine valve (E).
3. Open the bleeding valve (B).
