5 - TRANSPORT OPERATIONS
The CX490D/CX500D should never be transported or handled as a complete machine, and should thus be disassem-
bled into specific main modules. Therefore, any transport or handling of the CX490D/CX500D should be prepared
and executed only by a specialized hauling Service to be agreed with the CASE CONSTRUCTION Dealer.
Strictly refer to the Section "Road transport" of this Manual for general requirements, prescriptions, and precautions
for preparing and handling the main modules of the machine.
In addition to what is prescribed into the section "Road transport", some shipping conditions require to have the size of
the main modules of the machine further reduced. In particular, the base machine should be disassembled removing
the boom, and the boom cylinders.
Therefore, also the boom and the boom cylinders should be handled with cranes and lifters.
NOTICE: As general prescription, make sure handle the main modules using wire ropes, slings, shackles, and other
lifting devices of proper capacity in order to tackle the weight of each module. It is recommended to consider 120%
of the reference weight of each module for the selection of the lifting devices.
Refer to the following tables for the weights and the overall dimensions of the main modules.
NOTE: The weights and the dimensions are referred to the most complete configuration of each main module.
