4.1.6.2.1 CPU power management
BIOS setting
Explanation
Intel® SpeedStep™
Option for controlling Intel® SpeedStep™ Tech-
nology. The processor clock speed is increased
or decreased according to the number of calcu-
lations that must be made. As a result, the pow-
er consumption depends largely on the proces-
sor load.
Boot performance mode
Option for setting the CPU speed.
P-state reduction
Option for reducing CPU performance and pow-
er usage.
C-States
This setting allows the operating system to set
the processor clock speed on its own, thereby
saving energy.
Max C-States
This setting monitors the maximum C-State that

the processor can support.

This setting is only possible if C-States is set to Enabled.

Reduces the performance by the configured
value depending on the CPU being used.

Disables this function.
Enabled
Enables this function. Additional settings can be
selected.
C7
Maximum C-State C7. CPU voltage is switched
off completely.
C6
Maximum C-State C6. CPU voltage is reduced
to nearly 0 V.
C1
Maximum C-State C1. Processor is in sleep
mode, switch between C0 and C1.
